“Individually, I’m looking to pick up a medal in the bars final,” said Downie, who claimed European and Commonwealth gold in the event this year.
“Also, as a team I think we’re well prepared and we’re looking to build on the success we’ve had at the Euro’s [silver] and Commonwealths [gold].”
Fragapane, 16, who won all-around, vault and floor gold in Glasgow, says her main priority in Nanning is the team event – but also hopes to reach two individual finals.
“I don’t think I have too much pressure for the individual as it’s my first senior World Championships but hopefully I can make the vault and floor finals,” she told BBC Sport.
“I’ve never competed against the USA or China or anyone of those, so it’s really exciting.”
The World Championships represent the first stage of team qualification for the 2016 Rio Olympics, with the British men and women seeking a top-24 ranking.
They would then return for the 2015 World Championships in Glasgow knowing a top-eight place finish would secure them berths in Brazil.
