A machete has been recovered by police following reports of a fight involving a group of youths in Nottingham.
Armed officers were called to Lower Parliament Street at about 11:40 GMT on Thursday, Nottinghamshire Police said.
A cordon put in place on nearby Hockley has since been lifted.
No injuries were reported and one suspect was released without further action after being detained at the scene, the force added.
Assistant Chief Constable Suk Verma said: “Any activity of this sort is completely unacceptable and we will relentlessly pursue the offenders using all the available information and technology at our disposal.”
He added there would be an increased police presence in the area.
