Grace Clinton scored a stunning goal as Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to win at Brighton and Hove Albion in the Women’s Super League.

The hosts had taken the lead early in the first half through Elisabeth Terland’s header.

However, Tottenham equalised just before the break when Martha Thomas reacted quickly to drive home a rebound after Drew Spence’s shot hit the woodwork.

It looked like the two sides would not be separated in a tight second half but, with nothing seemingly on, Clinton drove in a stunning effort from more than 25 yards to put them ahead.

Ria Percival then wrapped up the win deep in stoppage time, firing in from inside the area with the hosts committing players forward in search of an equaliser.

Brighton have now lost both their home games in the WSL this season, having been beaten by West Ham in their last Amex fixture.

But for Tottenham, this was their second successive victory as they moved up to fourth in the table. Brighton, meanwhile, are ninth.
