Aberystwyth Town 1-2 Bala Town: The Seasiders and the Lakesiders met in a game with big implications at both ends of the table. Aberystwyth Town dropped to 11th while Bala stayed fifth. Aber needed a win to continue their recent revival that had seen them lose just once and win four of their previous six.
But Mike Hayes struck twice for Bala before the visitors’ Jonny Spittle hit back late on.
Connahs Quay Nomads 0-2 Bangor City: Dean Rittenberg and Steven Hewitt scored early as Nomads dropped from second to third, having gone into the game with hopes of rising to the summit of the table for a few hours at least.
Bangor, however, stayed fourth as the ended Connah’s Quay’s run of seven unbeaten games – the longest of the season in the WPL (seven games) and the teams ended level on 27 points in the table.
Llandudno FC 0-1 The New Saints: Greg Draper sent The New Saints to the top of the table to leave Llandudno with one win in their last nine. New Saints, a side buoyed by success in the Irn Bru Cup quarter-finals, were a point clear of Cardiff Met overnight on Friday.
Saturday, 18 November
Carmarthen Town 0-3 Prestatyn Town: Carmarthen have avoided defeat only twice this season and badly needed a win against Neil Gibson’s side, but they found no charity from The Seasiders. Ben Maher opened the scoring after just five minutes and Alex Williams and Jack Higgins secured the three points.
Newtown 3-0 Barry Town United: The Robins bounced back from their midweek Nathaniel MG Cup defeat to Cardiff Met while Barry missed the chance to break into the top six. Tom Goodwin put the hosts ahead just past the hour mark and while Barry pushed for an equaliser, Luke Boundford punished them with two late goals.
Sunday, 19 November
Cardiff Metropolitan 1-1 Cefn Druids: In a close game at Cyncoed Campus, Cardiff Met had to settle for a point after receiving a red card. Nathan Peate headed the visitors in front, before Adam Ruscrow levelled after Chris Baker’s pass. However, Joel Edwards was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Fisnik Hajdari on the hour mark and Druids held firm for a point.
